Decided to make one last outing before heading back to work after a six-month rehab assignment. Was on the water around 5:30pm and greeted by light rain. Since this lake is about a mile deep in spots, I took out my dredging line, trolling a woolly bugger / leech combo and immediately began hooking up after leaving the launch area. All 'bows were 12-15" and very feisty. Occasionally would cast towards shore and get small bass to take the lead fly. My trick to this place is to work in and out as close to shore as possible; keep an eye out for the sunken logs and trees. They are tackle killers. And the key for me is S-L-O-W! If you're not feeling your fly bumping the bottom, you're too shallow. I was reading lots of fish 20-30 feet deep on my electronics. Very few above that.
