After 16 times to Rufus Wood and attempting to throw the entire fish box in things final came together. Wakeup time 330AM drive from Spokane to Rufus and drop in north of Pin 2 rough launch area. Noticed allot of crayfish bodies all around. Drop time was about 6:30am. 50 degree sun breaking the horizon and absolutely gorgeous especially after a week of 100 degree the two days of cooler weather was nice. Flow was good and a solid 1 - 2 MPH current. Dropped the wedding ringers with worm and cruised to PIN 2. Bam friend his 7.5# rainbow beauty 15 minutes on north side of PIN two. Were excited first fish caught ever at Rufus, trolled by pin and water was so clear we could see the monster fish all around. 75-100 feet back and about 10 feet of water that day was our gear, floated by the south end of pin #2 and down 500 feet, on way up. Bam 8# rainbow now I was excited also. Bite started going weak around 8am and the last fish was 8.5# hooked in the gill rainbow. After that the bite was off, we went up river and found basalt rock grouping where we noticed allot of crayfish activity, thinking should come back at night with light and get some lobster style fishing in.
