My early morning procrastination delayed my arrival at McNary dam until around noon.I had heard that there had been quite a few boats there lately so that says to me that the steelhead bite was probably on(been watching the scrollcase temps on Columbia too) I put on my favorite McNary plug that seems to catch more steelhead than anyone in my box.Its a red herring bone that I've had to reshoot the paint on a couple of times to keep looking fresh.I must have caught around 15 figing them in with today no exception.I ended up with 3 takedowns.Lost 1 after about 3 or 4 spectacular jumps,and released 2 unclipped fish.I saw no other fish caught by anyone else all day.I pretty much stuck to the Oergon side not far from the fish ladder,1.5-1.7 mph and my line out about 12 passes back and forth on my 6500 ambassadeur.The wind came up as usual a bit after dark so I gave the Washington side a chance for a couple of hours with a lighted brads but the weeds were just so bad over there I packed it in.No hits Nadda over there.Water temp 60 degrees.
