Headed out of Porcupine on Saturday. Crossed the bay to hit the flat just upriver from the launch. My buddy Glenn picked up two on a jig, one 14" and one 18". I had a couple of hits on a blade bait but nothing serious. Next we crossed back over to the right side of porcupine to see if anything was biting near the creek that enters on the SW corner of the bay. No action so we headed up to our Burbot spot just down river from buoy five. My buddy Glenn, the Burbot king, proceeded to catch three 5-6lb Burbot in about five minutes. I was using a blade bait still but quickly swithed to a jig and robo worm. We caught our limit of Burbot. We had some friends in another boat who hit the hole just on the upstream side of buoy 5 and they reported catching only three Burbot and no Walleyes. We headed back down river hitting several of our favorite spots with no luck. Ended up back out on Porcupine across from the launch where we picked up two more Waleyes, Glenn caught one that was 5-6lbs and I caught a nice 18" one. Beautiful day with almost no wind. Not often you get to spend time on Porcupine with the surface looking like glass. Water temp is down to 36F with some floating patches of ice as you go upriver. Lots of eagles and deer up and down the Arm.
