We fished Spring Canyon from shore for a couple of hours. I lost a beauty (3-4 LBS) at the shore & that was it except for 1 other bite. My youngest & I had been scouting turkeys & I wasn't about to travel that far without trying the waters. It was a sunny beautiful day with light breezes now and then. It was good to get out!

my buddy and i were scouting new terrain as well and tried fishing spring canyon for the first time. we fished a few hours mid afternoon saturday (24th) from the docks without so much as a bite. is there a 'better' spot to fish there besides the dock?

Hey dave g, we were back in the actual canyon. We did not enter from the camp ground. Spring Canyon Rd. is about a 1/2 mile past the park entrance.(Upriver or East.) As to it being any better? You landed as many as we did. I use a beach spike type pole holder sit on a bucket/tackle box. In the winter we build a beach fire, roast hot dogs & roam around. I've never fished off the dock to know if it is any better. Good luck, hope this helps. Andy
