Brother in law #1 and I went to Hawk Creek/Seven bays today for some bank fishing. The water level is 30' below where you can launch out at Hawk, so we walked up and over. 1 hour after brother in law has his line out, he notices it dancing. He picked up this dandy 5.5 lb trout up on a worm and mallow.
We moved to 7 bays (sunshine bay) and I cast 1000 times and was finaly rewarded with the standard 18" Roosevelt Bow. I'd say it was a healthy 2-2.5 lb. I hit it by popping a 1/4oz. lead head jig with green 3" power minow on off of the bottom.
The weather was great. We got to Hawk's at 6:30 and it was already in mid 30's with little wind. Mild wind most of the morning and afternoon sun breaks.
