The Jigmeister and I were at Crowe Butte; we started fishing about 10:00 in the morning over near the pump station. Jiggy got a couple of one pounders over the next hour and a half on some jigs that he makes. Not to be discouraged with the slow fishing, we worked our way up to the mouth of Crowe Butte, wind was blowing rather hard, lots of white caps; and began drifting down the rocky west side of Crowe Butte using 3" Gulp minnows. Right away, we were getting strikes and hooking some small smallmouths. In fact I hooked into two large fish, both of which got to the boat and got off the hook before we could net them. We were able to land several more over the next hour. Wish we had started sooner, but neither of us had been to Crowe Butte for a year or more and finding the fish was the hard part.
