As last week, we launched at Two Rivers Marina Friday evening and got an early start to White Rock Saturday, fishing by 7:30AM. Unlike last week, fishing was terribly slow. We had two hits right off the bat and even had one fish at the boat, lost it, and then very little action. We spent about an hour and a half there then made our way to Sterling Point. Last week, we only found a few fish here but this week was a different story. No fish near the shore at all but in the channel, the bite was on. We boated about 15 fish releasing 7. Two of those fish were kokanee. One 18" and the other 20", these will BBQ nicely. One caught with Lenny special and worm, but the next was red and white needle fish with a piece of corn. The needle fish was a great producer. It accounted for most of the fish. The rest were caught on an assortment of Rappals and Rippin minnow.
Sunday we headed to Split rock again. We put a Green Rippin Minnoiw on mono at 175' and before the second line was even out, we had a nice 16" rainbow in the cooler. The fishing stayed hot for about two hours and then dropped off. No carry overs today. We released half a dozen fish and kept 13 between the 4 of us. We fished only until 1:00, and boated the last fish at 12:55. Good way to end the day. Saddly, the boat got put away today for the winter and will only go to the lake as a passanger. Look forward to other reports and hope to be on the water soon.
