Hit Lake Roosevelt at dark thirty Saturday morning, got the boat in the water just as the sun started to rise. Trolled pretty fast 3.0 to 3.4 mph using mono line and j-9 rapalas as well as the XRD rapala. I made up some clip weights using a 3oz lead ball, 2inch aligator clip from radioshack, and vaccum hose from auto zone. Let the line out 100 feet and then clipped the weight on letting out another 25ft of line. When a fish would hit I could reel in till the ball came up then just grab the ball pull it from the line and finish getting the fish in. I have down riggers but saw this on youtube and decided to give it a try pretty cool.Fished between Fort Spokane and 7 bays took about an hour to find the fish we stayed in that area for the next 2 hours and had limits of some good size rainbows the biggest we have caught all winter there. My buddy was not using the clip weights and I was just using it on one rod, all rods saw action. Off to Rock Lake this coming Saturday to try and load up on some Brown Trout.
