Went to the Brewster Pool for the second time ever, and the first time for chinook. Fished Sunday night and Saturday morning. We hooked up a lot but it was definitely a learning experience.
Sunday night we hooked chinook and sockeye on our sockeye rig ( 00 dodger and a pink macks chacha swuidder) and also a few larger chinook on a brads super bait. but like i said it was a learning experience, and the few we did manage to land were all wild. But we made the mistake of bringing a net that was smaller than it should have been.. by a lot... so we lost a few to that, one straitened hook, yada yada yada, mistakes were made.
The last fish we hooked was at about 5pm monday. It was taking line like crazy and then I made the mistake of tightening the drag slightly and the 20lb leader I rigged the superbait with popped, and a monster chinook took off with the only superbait that had hooked a fish in the two days.
We also got our limit of decent sockeye monday morning really easily fishing one sockeye rig and one chinook rig.
No keeper chinook but the 4 rating was because if i could hook a dozen or so in a day and a half it must be pretty decent.
