Combined report for 9/20 & 9/22.

Water surface temps 71.2° - 71.8°, air temp mid 60s - low 70s.

Friday's conditions were windy with heavy chop, partly cloudy skies. Sunday was mostly calm with overcast skies. Trolling speeds both days were 2.9 - 3.1mph.

Gear was Frisky Jenny Trick R Treat flies tipped with worm on a 50' leader tied to 18lb leaded line. Flies sent out 150' per line counter. Long line mono rigs with Rip'n Minnow plugs out 195' per line counters.

Friday's results were a two person limit in the cooler with 9 taken on the flies and one on the plugs. Sunday was a repeat with another two person limit this time 7 came on flies and 3 on plugs. Limits both days in about 2 1/2 hours.

All but two fish were this year's net pen released fish in the 13" - 14" range running just over a pound to a pound and a half. The two exceptions were both natives, one of which was just under 2lbs.

Bonus was seeing approximately 40 Bighorn Sheep scattered along the hillsides while trolling on Friday. Found a group of 15 near the water's edge that stayed for a photo.

Thanks for the report. Always enjoy reading what you have to share. We saw about 20 Bighorn Sheep across from Lincoln over the 4th of July, also right on the beach. Cool sight to see these animals and not have to go to Montana or Wyoming. :) Hope to get out this coming weekend and catch a few.

As always a great report, thanks. The Sheep are really cool; we saw a large group of all rams in February this year. As always the Trick R' Treat works great. Did you try a Lenny Special?

Alan - The Lenny Special is my default "go to" fly and I only change for something else when it doesn't work. Friday I had 3 in the cooler to Debbie's goose egg when I decided the trout definitely preferred the Trick R Treat. Swapped the other leaded line rig over to another Trik R Treat and we continued on with hookups on both sides of the boat.

Nvan - Was a real treat with the sheep, they usually run uphill and away when we troll by them. They stayed on the beach and we were only about 50yds out, so almost up close and personal with them. ;-)

You ever try a wigglefin action disc in front of your flies.I run muddler minnows with the red in the tail with a disc in front and about an inch of worm trailing off the back.No dodger just fly and disc.It usually outfishes everything in the boat. The disc really shakes the worm pretty good.Thats one of my favorite Roosevelt leadcore setups.

Never heard of it. Can you get it locally or on line?

I am heading out tomorrow. Any good tips on where to start and where it was the best? Thanks!

Yak - Have tried them a time or two, but I do so well without them I don't really need them. Might be good for slower trolling speeds, but we troll pretty fast. Steven - I didn't catch your comment until today, so you're probably already gone. Guess it really depends on where you plan to launch and how far you want to travel. S-R has reported trolling to be good between Two Rivers and Hawk Creek as well. Hope you've got a big boat, winds are forecast is sustained winds to 18mph increasing to 26mph this afternoon with gusts near 40mph. Yesterday's wind forecast was worse. Be safe!

Thanks for saving me the drive out! We are going to go try Hayden lake to see how it is. It's calm here with no wind now so hopefully we get something other than wet and blown around. Thank you sir!
