07 - The Dalles to McNary (Celilo/Umatilla)

Species: Walleye
Time: Morning
Rating: 4
Views: 2339

Made it out earlier in the morning, it's definitely an early bite. Dad brought in a 4 lb walleye within the first 5 minutes. Bite continued to be well on silver smiley blades and green/red spoons. Finished with 13 because brother in law had to leave early back to Standpoint. On by 645, off by 11:00.

The wind blew terribly hard but made for awesome fishing. Turned the boat sideways and just drifted with the wind. Biggest was 4, smallest was 1.5 lbs. and still the Columbia walleye are meatier than lake fish.

I give it a 4, but the guys in the Willie boat would give this a 5. They just hammered the fish going against the wind and fast. Not sure why it worked better but these guys limited on all 2 lb+ fish.
