Left Spokane around 3:30am arrived at Vernita Bridge around 6 long line at main launch so went over to other launch only 3 people in line.. In the water and gear in water with in 15min fish on right off the bat. Nice Jack.

we ended up with only 3 jacks for the day and a couple missed hook ups

On a side note people need to learn boat control we were hit by a big duckworth because it was more important to land the fish then drive the boat, I ended up with about 150ft of their down rigger cable around my boat

it was a beautiful day 80 degrees when we left

couple things I forgot we started the day by using your normal Hot Tamale with tuna then around 2 switched over to Lemon Lime and they really liked that.

I fished Vernita last year and said I would never go back. I can not understand why people think that just because a person in their boat is fighting a fish that every body needs to be at the back of the boat watching and standing there with a net when the fish has not even been seen yet. In our boat one person fights the fish while the other person steers the boat until the fish has been played out and is ready to be netted, at that time we can steer with the tiller handle at the stern and net the fish. Why do some people think that it is ok to not have control of their boat at all times just like with their car(oh ya texting I forgot, they don't care in their car either).

so right hewesbob the even better part is when the guy hooked the fish he pulled up so hard he hit the top of the boat and broke the pole off :-) it was just a comedy of errors we are just lucky no one was hurt

One I found really funny was 2 weekends ago when we were fishing the pipeline hole. A boat was waving off people that he had a fish on in the middle of the river and telling them to go around or move out of the way. One of the guys had the net in his hand the whole time, while another boat was coming up, you could tell they were hung up with each other but they still thought they had a fish. They sat there "fighting" a fish for about 10 minutes until he finally got his stuff up and noticed it was tangled with that other boats line that was trying to get close to their boat to get untangled. What we do when we get a fish on is try to manuever our boat out of the way of traffic or into shallower water where the current isn't as strong and fight the fish. Some of those people really don't pay attention out there, even when they're just sitting there fishing.
