I do not know if it was a Polar Blast today, but it definitely was a Blast today! It was 18 degrees when we launched at Spring Canyon. It was the first time I used full canvas on my Lund. My hands quickly got cold as we snapped and zipped the components together. It was only a few minutes with the heater on and our enclosure was warm and we headed to Sawilla. 1st fish on in 5 minutes. We trolled red/green Flicker Shads on long lines with Kekeda flies( orange and black/orange) on down riggers 12-16 feet. 12 fish in 3 hours with most on the plugs. Half were carry overs 17-18 inches.

Catfish and I decided to see if Keller might be better and within 3 minutes had a triple on. We boated over 30 fish in the next 3.5 hours. The flies were the definite bait of choice 18 feet down. We switched the plugs to X-Raps to get deeper and the pig of the day was a 25 inches on a fire tiger. With another 20-30 hits/takedowns/short releases the action was nearly non stop. Most of the fish at Keller were 15 inches.

The sunny day and minimal wind made for a great day. We never saw another boat all day. Another great day with CF on the water!
