After reading recent reports on Roosevelt decided I needed to make my first trip of the winter. Got to Lincoln boat launch about 9:30 launched and headed for hawk creek, lines in the water 9:45 one leaded line 3 colors out with orange kekeda fly, 2 poles on DR 15'&18' one with perch colored fly and the other with orange and black fly, put the fourth pole out the back with a black pearl rippin minnow. Next order of the day....get heater started, no such luck, in about an hours time put 2 fish in the boat worked on heater, still not working....forget the heater go FISHIN! Needed more action packed up and headed for sterling point got their 11:15 lines in the water and in about 5 minutes FISH ON...the action was almost non stop had doubles 2 times, all poles caught fish but the leaded line and orange kekeda combo was the hot one for us today. [Thanks Dave, GREAT FLIES!] Last fish in the boat at 12:35, 15 fish 3 were carry overs the rest just the average Roosevelt rainbow, trolling speed 2-2.3 water temp 44.
