I've fished Ward lake since I was a kid with my dad. I went out today with high hopes of success, but I was severely dissapointed. I trolled for about three hours using pop-gear and worms, rooster tails and wedding bands without getting a single hit. It used to be you caught your limit there if you invested the time, but I believe the lake receives way too much pressure now especially this late in the season.
I did manage to land a mess of good sized perch and one bluegill if you are interested in sun-fish. The perch seem to be taking over the lake, they are all over now and minnows are everywhere.
I spoke with a boatfull of guys who were bass fishing, they reported no success, just perch.
