I got an unexpected day off and put it to good use! We put in at Spring Canyon at 07:30. I had the luxury of riding along with Mcfisherson13 of this site. He wanted to explore new water and I was game. We ran up to the mouth of the SanPoil and dropped our gear in. We used Kekeda type flies in pink,orange and perch as well as K-flies in orange. We fished them on the downriggers from 10 to 50 feet on the wire. We were prospecting for Kokes and had one almost to the boat with a jointed orange rapala on the surface line! We flat lined Rapalas 180 - 225 feet back. We toyed with speed from 1-3MPH. We caught Rainbows on all colors and almost every depth down to 50FT. The Bows were feisty & plump ranging from 14-19". But, 17-18 average size. We were able to catch and release several fish before keeping our limits of Bows. Thanks Mark for another great day out! Sorry no pics.

hewesfisher & downriggeral, it was some much needed hydro-therapy. It was spontaneous due to an unexpected early return of a co-worker I was covering for.
C-money, Spring Canyon is a NPS launch. $6.00 for one week. I am not aware of any launches that are not run by the park service. please, anybody else chime in if I'm wrong.

Thanks for the report. One of these days the kok's will start hitting. I am in the process of making some planer boards and will be trying them out down by keller some place. So if you see a guy looking like a newby it's probably me.LOL

As far as I know all launches on Roosevelt are National Park Service. Besides the $6 fee you can also get a annual launch pass for $15 if you have a National Parks Senior Pass or $30 if you aren't old and grey like some of us!

Yeah, like me, uh, well I'm old and silver, just not "old" enough. LOL. All public launches on the south shore are part of Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area - launch fee required. I've see a couple launches on the south shore that appear to be private (one below Whitestone) but unlikely the public can obtain access. So, $6, ($3 with a Senior Pass) or $30 for annual ($15 for Senior Pass). One note of caution, all the launches are NPS, so your WDFW launch permit is NOT valid and can result in a ticket if you don't pay NPS fee to launch.

widebear , With any luck our lines will not get tangled too bad! LOL I built a set of boards last year and have yet to deploy them. They are a lot of work to use but, hey if it is key to catching fish I'm all over it!

Thanks for the replies about the launch fees. Did not go cause of all the snow Thursday night. Keeping fingers crossed for this Thursday or Friday!
