We left Cheney at 5:30am Sunday morning in order to get to Seven Bays by daylight. Talk about a scary white-knuckle drive, I couldn't see 50 yards in front of me with all of the fog. At least the roads weren't too bad. I woke my little 5 year old up when we arrived. The water seemed pretty high and we had to hike for 20-30 minutes, but she was a trooper and insisted on carrying her own pole and chair. We tried one spot for about 30 minutes, with no luck. So, we moved further down the beach. We got set up, and of course, she had to go to the bathroom. I put some bells on our poles and we went to a good spot for her to go. After she was done and we were in the middle of putting all of her layers back on, we heard a bell starting ringing! We both ran to her pole, I set the hook and I let her start reeling. The fish gave her a great fight and talk about excited! She was screaming, hootin' and a hollerin', "I got my first fish, I got my first fish!" She was so proud of her catch, but not nearly as proud as her daddy. It was a nice 17" rainbow. Not too long after, I brought one in which was 16 1/2". I let her bring in the 3rd fish which was 15". We caught them all on orange and chartreuse Power Bait, 18-24" off of the bottom. At 10:00, she said she was getting a little cold and was ready to go home. I didn't argue, because we had such a great morning. We had fish for dinner that night. What an awesome trip! Great memories!
