Took the new family boat ( Fourwinns ) out on its maden fishing trip to lake Roosevelt with my 83 year young dad. Spent Thursday night mounting a trolling moter on the bow without drilling into the boat until 10:30 pm. It was an entire family afare and it worked beautifully. On the lake by 7:30 fishing just short of buoy 5. If you go back a few years to a previous post we fished in the same eddy where a rock pile and drop off was on the left side just short of the corner to buoy 5. We picked up 1/2 of our eyes in this spot, however, fish were everywhere from 4 FOW to 20. Largest fish was 20 inches with most 16-18. Sizes were bigger this year than in the past. We managed 9 keeper eyes and a huge smallie simply starting at the eddy and drifting with 3/8 oz green and yellow jigs with 1/2 a crawler. A great day with weather in the low 80's. Many memories and stories told on this trip.
Tight lines,
Packernut.
