Fishing here in Astoria has continued to be on fire! We are have been landing limits of 20+ pound kings daily. Yesterday we had all 5 of our Chinook by 10 am.
We have been starting our mornings the past few days just above the bridge Washington side. Most mornings the bite here has been absolutely fantastic. About an hour and a half after the tide change we moved down into the church hole and started working toward the fort. There was a decent bite down there but it was a little sporadic and you had to be perfectly on the x. As low slack hit we made a run down to the Illawco area to see if we could find a few silvers on the tide change. We managed to land one hatchery silver and a few more Chinook. We ended our day a with 10 Chinook landed and 1 hatchery silver.
This fishing should remain absolutely lights out through the end of the month. As of 8/24/15 we will only be able to retain hatchery Chinook below Tounge Point. This just means we will be turning a few more fish loose to come up with our keepers, but with the amazing number of Chinook down here I don't anticipate any issues finding limits.
I still have a few openings the next week and a half. I have 3 seats open the 26th, and one seat each day the 28th, and 29th, and full boats the 30th and 31st. Don't miss out on this amazing fishery! Give me a call at 208-861-0654 and let's get you on the river.
