8/29/2015 10:37:00 AMThe only advice I could give might be that you are too far up river. Try from Lincoln down river to maybe White Rock (Stone). Also check out Captain Dave's report. He often has decent advice.

However I have been doing well out of Keller Ferry fishing near the mouth of San Poil.
In the last three weeks in three trips we limited all but one trip.
We are fishing in 150-200 feet of water and down riggers at 55-60nin the morning and down to 80 feet mid day.
My friend landed a 19" almost 3 pound Koke two weeks ago. Beutiful fish

8/29/2015 3:23:00 PMThe first koke is the hardest. Make sure you are fishing over Kokanee and not just "fish". This is harder in Roosevelt because is just so big. By using a color sonar I can tell the difference between rainbows and Kokanee so I motor around till I find kokes. Once I find kokes my downriggers go down to the tops of the arches. Then I start out trolling 1.3 mph and gradually increase speed till I hook up. Once I start getting hits I play around with gear and scent combos to optimize productivity.

8/29/2015 8:47:00 PMThanks. We hit Whitestone today. Let me say that it's a good thing I have a big boat. We landed a few rainbows then the weather got bad......real bad. I haven't seen water over the bow in a lake since a bad choice on chelan.
We busted up about 80 bux worth of gear getting out of there and it was a bargain! Back at it tomorrow.

8/30/2015 8:20:00 AMHello High Country - I always check the weather reports for Grand Coulee and Davenport to get a look at predicted weather for the area. I use Weather Underground. It will tell me what time the wind is going to blow and how fast. It is a good predictor of what may happen. We stay off if it's going to be bad.
000 dodgers or sling blades with an added bend in them; UV is money. Wedding rings, Asasins or Apex pink UV. We run everything within a foot of the dodger. Apex back 18'" or so. Look up Herzog for some added tips. His Rooster Tail spinner equipped Wedding Ring works great.
Don't forget the shoepeg corn....scented. There is all manner of scent out there; experiment !! Hope that helps - Alan

8/31/2015 10:47:00 PMYesterday we fished the mouth of the San poil. It was the first day we didn't touch a fish all day. The wind was blowing about 20-25mph all day. I donated a very nice net to the lake.
I'm going to upgrade fish finders as I'm obviously not marking fish wort a hoot. Looks like a 7610xsv with the super ducer' should up the odds. I'm currently using a Lowrance lcs 15mt and it's just not that awesome anymore.
