We spent Sep 5th, 6th and 7th with guide Don Talbot targeting the Chinook in the Hanford Reach area of the Columbia.
On all 3 days we spent our early mornings below the Priest Rapids dam trolling in about 15' of water with Bait Bombs, Flashers and Brad's cut plugs. We filled them with tuna, garlic and Super Dipping Sauce. They worked great! We hooked up each morning at about 6:10 pulling in good sized fish from 12 to 20lbs. We couldn't even get our rods into the holders a few times before we were hauling in fish.
The bite was usually short lived at that location so we moved down river a short distance to the hatchery location and managed to pull in a few more in the 20 to 30lb range.
The bite was good from 6 to 11, but on all 3 days it died off and never seemed to come back for us.
Don was a great host, and is an experienced angler than can get you on the fish.
