WOW! What a fun day yesterday down at Vernita. The weather was awesome and so was the fishing. I love the scenery down there this time of year. We had fun seeing 6 coyotes on the way up the river. Fishing pressure was quite low, but that will probably change soon.
I had a great time with my guests Sam, Ryan, and Tom. I hope they have recovered by now. They were complaining of really sore arms. Fishing started out with a bang and was pretty consistent until 11 am. After 11 we were able to hook up on three more fish. Two of which we landed before we left at 2pm. After all was said and done, we went 9 for 14. Including a jack and a released steelhead.
Superbaits were the ticket once again although we did land one on a Mag Lip in the afternoon. This time of year lava and hot tamale seem to be my go to colors paired with a chrome pro-troll. My troll speeds were all between 1.8 and 2.2 MPH.
This season is shaping up to be another banner run. I love being outdoors with my guests relaxing on the river while catching Big Ol' Salmon. I have several openings in the next few weeks and would love to have some Northwest Fishing Report Anglers on the boat to share the experience with. Feel free to give me a call or check out my Face Book page for daily updates.
