I went fishing with a coworker today on the Columbia river. He likes fishing here in the spring for Smallmouths but he had never fished here in the fall and I convinced him to go. We went to his favorite spot and immediately started catching perch. In fact, I caught one about 11.5 inches, by far the biggest perch I've ever caught. After a while I got my raft and fished about a mile and a half of the river and didn't catch a thing but weeds. Then we went to his second favorite area and he got a few small bites and I got skunked. We saw a few good sized bass jump, but the whole area we were at is shallow and weedy and difficult to fish if you're not used to that. Good day overall, but I don't know if I could recommend it to others right now.
