Day 1, (Saturday 11/7) started out fishing bright and early At White Stone, lines in the water before 7AM. I had higher expectations for the fishing actions than what we got. Very slow start. Almost an hour for the first fish. The first fish hit a large jointed Rapala off leaded line. This lure continued to be the only lure that got hits for most of the morning. Late morning, a rippin minnow landed a 19" RB followed by a 17" Kokanee. Also, the Kededa orange fly with a chunk of worm started getting hot and that was the ticket the rest of the day. Total fish for the day was 1 short of a four person limit. Most were 14".

The highlight of the day was the herd of Big Horn Sheep across from Sterling Point. We counted about 16 in the herd. Two of the Rams squared off and were butting heads for quite some time. That was the best! Wild kingdom in action. We just watched them for about 30 minutes while trolling in a circle. Another cool sight was a large 5 x 5 mule deer trotted past the sheep to the shore for a drink.

Day 2 we headed up river to Split Rock at first light. We had 6 fish within 30 minutes. Very fast action then dead. Spotty fishing the rest of the day. No hot spots and if the lure wasn't orange or sport the name rapala on it, the fish were not hitting it. By the end of the day we ended up 2 short of a 4 person limit. Scenery was beautiful but besides the eagles, wildlife was scarce. No fish over 17 inches today and both days we lost a number of fish. Trolling speed was between 1.8 and 3.3 mph. The faster speeds produced the most fish. Tight lines and good fishing.

Sorry not photos. My phone's camera is crummy and our "photographer" hasn't sent me pics yet.

Nice job on getting the numbers of fish that you did. Sounds like a great trip with lots of fish and fun wildlife watching. Thanks for sharing the report! -Dave
