Hit the shorelines of Lake Roosevelt between Gifford and Daisy for a Saturday fishing trip. Had lines in the water at about 9:30 AM using olive colored Garlic Powerbait. Last week we did alright but my buddy convinced me that having a 2 pole endorsement has definite upsides and proved it when he out-fished me 2-0. So this week I picked that up and took advantage of it Saturday. Was pretty consistent for the first couple hours, getting bites about every 30-45 minutes. We landed about half of the fish that were biting our lines and by the end of the day we had 7 on the stringer all about 15-16 inch range. I landed 3 and my buddy beat me with 4 but at least it was close. I'm new to the winter trout fishing this year and boy those trout put on an awesome fight in contrast to my normal summer Walleye fishing. I also really enjoyed using the 2 pole endorsement. When the fish are biting it makes for some crazy action. It's our goal to fish every Saturday this winter and I just cannot wait till next weekend!
