Took another swing at the burbot. First one at porcupine launch, got to bouy 5 and not much action for a bit. Bites seemed light and quick, ended up with maybe ten bites total, missing a couple lost one on the way up, drag too light and ended up boating one decent size burbot. Figured maybe the walleye bite would be better, so headed back downriver, and had similar results... Lots of soft bites, one took a hard swing, folding the rod over but didnt hook up. Ended up boating only 3 eyes, but one was a nice 17"er. Not a bad day, well.... Other than the red helichopter shooting, or tranq'in elk on the hill side just up from blue creek... That was weird.

Buoy 5 is about 8 to 10 miles upriver from porcupine bay. It is where the river makes a u turn just upriver from mill canyon.

Pay close attention to the shallow waters around the green channel markers. I was glad I followed someone the other week.
