Hit up Porcupine Bay for some burbot action on Friday with a good friend. We had heard of others getting burbot from the shore in the vicinity of the boat launch after dark. After a disappointing shore trip to the Colville River a few weeks back we thought, why not. Porcupine is much closer to Cheney than the Colville River. We arrived at 5 p.m. and proceeded to toss night crawlers off the bank near the swimming area. First fish was caught at 5:15 a fat 12 inch Perch. Had a few bites over the next few hours. Finally at 9:30 a skinny 19 inch burbot was caught. Slow fishing but being outside is better than watching TV.

Next time you have a perch like that, try the belly meat on the bottom.......I bet you catch a bot'.
