Gave Brewster a shot and it was a waste of time, we had a bite for about 5 seconds and that was it the whole weekend. There were some boats catching fish here and there but not like the last few years. This was the first time we have been skunked going to Brewster.

Maybe it's me but it seems some of these fishing guides operate like a bunch of jerks. They have no respect for other boaters and think they own the water. One in particular would purposely push my boat and others off course as he cuts across the bow at will. Next time I think I will take a heavy chain with large hooks and go behind the guide boat and snag all his gear.

We were up at Brewster last Friday (7/29) & managed 3 socs in 3 hours...not too inspired by our catch or what I saw. Three hard rains the week earlier sent them upriver according to my friend. That said, we had an epic king bite early Sunday morning in front of Chelan Falls...Hooked 12 in 1.5 hours...killed 3 nice ones (including one that was chrome believe it or not!)...2 native releases, one native released itself at the boat & took our pliers!--big fish! And, a couple lost & some drive-by's. It was "on" about as good as I've ever seen river fishing...

Walleye Be Damn it was great meeting u and your family.Sorry that Brewster was so bad to you,as you know there were fish in the pool being caught. Our tally for 3 days fishing was 2 big hatchery kings, several lost kings,1 wild release,3 sockeye, not lights out,but not a wast of time. When it comes to chasing silver sided salmon, not catching them when you know there below the boat can flustrate even the most patient & skilled anglers around.keep trolling my friend, hopefully see you for fall kings in the tri citys.

I not sure what is going on with the guides anymore. We were at Lake Wenatchee last week and beached our boat while I went to get our tow rig and trailer to load up, while I was gone a guild pulled in next to us. The wind was very strong and my wife was having a hard time holding the boat. She said to the guide that she was sorry but our boat may swing into his. His reply was "I really don't give a F@#K". What kind of a thing is that to say to a senior lady having trouble holding our boat. Another instance last week a popular tackle company posted how great the fishing was on Lake Wenatchee and I commented to their story asking them to be a little more truthful. Although guild boats and some personal boats were getting limits there were a vast amount of folks not getting any hits or maybe just getting a fish or two. The guides bombarded me( one in particular from Cashmere) saying that I just didn't know how to fish. My point was that folks make plans and spend a lot of money on these trips based on the reports they read, I just want people to know the truth but the truth does not always sell tackle or seats in a guide boat. Interesting thing on Saturday while we were headed home this one certain guide from Cashmere who knows my boat pulled up behind me on HWY 2 and passed me in a no passing zone with traffic coming and cut me off forcing me onto the shoulder with my motorhome and boat. I try every thing I can do to not fish around crowds and try to keep a great distance from guide boats just because most (not all) show no respect for other folks. Good luck and stay safe

We fished that fishery from 2001-2014 before moving out of the area and we know EXACTLY which guide you are referencing. We have tried to talk some sense into him time and time again but that local boy doesn't care. I would like to say who, but I can't on this forum.

And there is a similarly rude one from Okanogan.

I'm really sorry to hear about all the negative experience with guides. I make my full time living guiding and love and cherish the opportunity to make a living doing something I love. I really hope that I am never seen as being rude on the water, as I seriously try to be extremely courteous on the water and am acutely aware of how my actions reflect not only my business but the general perception of the guiding community. I like everyone else out there am just trying to dodge all the other boats while trying to not cause anyone else any stress. I also write reports often on this site and I try and be very helpful and honest about how I am doing on the water. If I ever come off as rude, please feel free to let me know as civil as possible so I can understand frustration. Also if anyone ever has a question about how, why, what, or how deep please ask, as I will freely share any and all information to help others have enjoyable experiences.
