This a pretty late report and a combo to boot but I had trouble getting my photos downloaded and they aren't all that great anyway.
Last Friday my friend Ron came over from Helena to buy a travel trailer and some peaches and somehow we managed to fit a day of fishing on the Spokane Arm mainly looking for Walleye. We didn't do all that well, I got one nice 15" eye and Ron got some small ones that weren't keepers so that was good enough to make my day pretty good right there. We got 4 nice small mouth but that was it. The wind was going back and forth like someone sweeping the sidewalk and kind of convinced me I need a bow mount electric motor. Not sure how to make that happen on my 16ft SeaRunner with a covered bow but I need to look into it.
During the week of August the 8th the wife and I and my son and his family did a houseboat rental vacation out of Seven Bays. We ran down to below Lincoln and got a really nice spot to tie up on the reservation side and all in all had a really relaxing four day stay. I had the Tin Guppy along and ran down river several miles and tried to find some Kokanee on a couple of mornings. Even being right on the water I had trouble getting the mattress off my back and getting an early start. The first morning I got my lines down around 7:30 and I think within about 20 minutes had a Kokanee on at 50ft. He fought well and I was pretty proud of myself for boating him solo. About 10 minutes after landing him I got a decent 15" inch Rainbow and thought this is going to be my morning. Well it was, a nice Koke and a RB are a good morning. The Koke was only 19" but weighed in at over 4 lbs, just a "chunk". Caught some other rainbow up near the house boat but that was about it. Did manage to leave a downrigger ball on a point down below what I believe may be called the Goat Farm area. Happened so quick I never had a chance. Although the fishing was not great is was still a pretty awesome week.

Thanks for the report Mark. Glad you had a great time. I almost donated a DR ball my last trip too. I went around it four times from every angle trying to get it loose. Got over the top of it and had the cutters in my hand to cut it off when I took up the slack it seemed to come so I continued and low and behold up it came! Yahoo

Alan,
I have two manual Scotty's and I think I had the drag set too tight on the one so I have no one to blame but myself. That little point doesn't show on the contour lines on my GPS, I'll bet I'm not the only one that has left hardware down there.

I have been running the Scotty snubbers and I really think they help. Pulled hard and never broke one off. Also be sure not to overtighten the drag on the DR. Overtightening could rip the DR off the boat if the ball hangs up.....not good! I have fished that point and it really comes up fast.
