The trip to Keller this morning was unique. The normal trio left home with the temp 25*. Near Soap Lake the wind was blowing and it was 40*. An hour later at Wilbur it was -3*. 20* at Keller almost seemed like a heat wave. We were the first rig at the launch but 5 more arrived before we got in the water proving we were not the only crazies.

We had lines in the water by 8:30. Fishing for us was like the fluctuating temperature. Long spells of nothing with a quick 1 or 2 fish. We offered plugs, flies and hoochies but the only thing that yielded fish were pink and orange Kekeda flies behind dodgers. We ended up with 5 RBT and 2 very nice Kokes at 21 inches each. All the fish came off the DRs at 5-14 feet except one RBT that hit while letting the line out. Water temp was 42* and speed 2.0- 2.4 MPH.

The scenery definitely was more spectacular than the fishing today. As usual it was another great day on the water to end another year with great fishing buddies. Happy New Year to All!
