Decided to brave the frigid temperatures and go fishing Friday afternoon. Headed out to my spot around noon between Daisy and Gifford but my trip got sidetracked when I got to Rice. Had an unfortunate old man flag me down who seemed to have run out of gas. Weather is much too cold to leave someone stranded so I decided to give him a lift back to town to grab a gas can. About 2 hours later, he and his grandson were back on the road headed home while I continued back to fishing. (They were very nice and grateful people)

Got to my spot around 3PM and threw one line out with a ball of garlic powerbait and used my other pole to cast and retrieve a spoon. About a half hour later I had a trout come just inches off the bank following my spoon. He never swiped at it but I quickly threw it back out about 10 feet. Sure enough he bit it and I landed the 1 fish for the day.

I fished till about sunset when I decided to call it quits. Overall it was a decent afternoon and I was happy to have not got skunked. Felt good helping out someone in need as well and the fish gods made sure to compensate me for that.
