Friday I had the privilege of fishing with Donn Morse the owner of Old Goat Lures and the creator of the OG1 along with Rob Holman and his cohort Paul who came along to document the trip on video. The plan for the day was to test the effectiveness of the OG1 against the fishes in Lake Roosevelt.

I feel that some of my success at Lake Roosevelt is a result of running several different types of lures throughout the day. It's very rare for me to only run one type of lure on all my rods, but that is exactly what we did. We ran 6 different OG1 lures of different sizes and colors. I experimented a little and ran a dodger ahead of 2 lures. At the end of the day I concluded that this lure is a stand alone lure and fishes well right out of the package. Although it looks like a flatfish, I think its erratic action more resembles an apex. Be sure to check out Donn's report. He included the sizes and colors that worked best for us.

We caught 13 hatchery and a few wild bows. Most were caught trolling about 1.5 mph anywhere from 5-35' deep trolling along sandy shorelines. The OG1 is definitely a productive lure. One that I will be adding to my arsenal.
