3/18/2017 8:01:00 AMRedband rainbow are not a protected species and the pamphlet corrections did not change the wording quoted above. Can't be technically illegal if handling isn't addressed in the pamphlet.
Unless or until WDFW changes handling rules to include redband trout in the existing definition on pg 5, there is no basis for declaring it illegal to remove them from the water.
That said, we should do our best to minimize stress to ANY fish we release whether or not legal to retain. ;-)
