I am not going to say exactly where my buddies and I have been fishing the last month, they would kill me if I did, but the walleye fishing has been pretty darn good. We have had hard times keeping a full limit because we have had to suffer through catching fish that are too big; I know that seems like a real tough situation to go through but it does happen every so often. Over the last 3 weekends we have caught and released at least 40 eyes over 22 inches. Most have been in the 5 to 7 1/2 lb range plus a handful of 8 1/2 lb eyes. The largest was 12 lbs. caught this past weekend by my partner in crime Glenn.
All were caught jigging and I would like to say there was one color better than all of the others but that is not the case. We have constantly changed jig and trailer colors throughout the day until we'd find something that they were keen on and when that color slowed down we tried something else. Grubs, worms, and swimbaits have all worked at one time or another but blade baits have been pretty slow surprisingly.
The attached pictures are from the last couple of weekends
