A little late getting out today at 1:00 pm. Launched the boat off the gravel at Couse Creek and went upriver past Buffalo Eddy to a nice stretch of water. My constant fishing partner and wife, decided that this was a hair day, so I am fishing alone. Applied scent to a couple of old standby Wiggle Warts, one green & one red, put the lines in the 45.3* water and proceeded to get a cup of coffee, took the top off the mug and looked up at the rods, one was about to be ripped out of the rod holder. I scrambled to the rod, and was into a nice Steelhead, it came boiling out of the water several times before I finally slid the net under it. Well I figured this was going to be a dynamite evening, the first fish on in less than five minutes. I finish the drift without a nudge. Went down river about two miles and put the lines in, at the end of the run my rod went down, and was into another Steelhead, this one did not jump, but put up a long fight. Went to another location and put the lines in, in about fifteen minutes the rod takes a violent jerk and another Steelie is on, this one feels like a big fish, the the line goes slack and its gone. Finished the pass without a hit, it is 4:00 pm and getting dark in the canyon, so I call it quits and head for the launch, another great evening in Hell's Canyon. Ken
