I arrived at Munn lake at about 12:30 in the afternoon, the water is very warm and weeds are really thick making trolling difficult even in the middle of the lake. I hooked a good sized trout trolling a worm behind a twin bladed spinner, but I took so long getting the net that he got off. He looked like a rainbow or a cutt about 12 or 13 inches long, he hit while I was letting out line i was probably lucky to even get him up to the boat.
After a hour of fighting the weeds, I started looking for the bass. I hit the water with spinner baits rapalas and poppers with no luck. Eventually I switched out of desperation to a black Flying Lure. The only thing I have ever caught before with a flying lure was a trap-door snail at lake padden, but I'll be darned if I didn't hook a largemouth on my second cast.
After dragging him over the lilly pads I had cleverly cast my line over, I got him in the boat. As I said, he was a largemouth bass, about 12 inches long, weighed around 1 1/4 pounds.
I will definately consider going back, but earlier in the year would probably be the best time to hit up this lake.
good luck all!
