We started fishing at around 8:00 AM, but had not one real bite until around midday. Most of this was due to the fact that we could not get into the area we really wanted to be in until another couple left. We used red or purple shrimp, 7'-8' below a slip bobber. Once we got into the hole we wanted to be in, we started getting bites but they were very quick and soft. One nibble and our shrimp might be gone. My wife managed to hook up one of the nibbling buggers and we were both surprised with the quality of the hatchery hen she pulled in! Neither of us expected a fish that big. (I do not have the measurements) That was the only steelhead caught that day and we stopped fishing about 1:45.
