Finally got back from Canada or should I say I unfortunately am back from Canada because I never wanted to leave. The trip started off slow...for me at least as I got skunked the first day, but my buddies caught 5 between the two of them to make up for it. 2nd day we didn't make it out because of the wind and 3-4 foot waves. 3rd day turned out to be the start of the best part of the trip. We caught 20+ pike with me boating a 38" for the day and the biggest of the trip to that point and also an accidental walleye at 29" and 10+ lbs. The next two days were as windy as the 2nd day...we gave it a try at the north end of the lake but only boated 3 small pike in 6 hours and decided is was not worth the effort to go out on the water the following day as long as it was windy. We made it out in the evening where we had a very successful catch with my buddies boating a 37" and 39.5" and me boating a 42" pike ten feet from the boat. Hit a mepps number 5 red and I saw the whole thing...totally AWESOME...and my personal best pike!!!! The next day we went to the same cove as the 3rd day and started off with a 37" my buddy caught literally on his first cast. I boated the next 3 fish all averaging about 36" with the mepps number5. My other buddy then proceeded to boat two trophies back to back with a 40.5 and a 42.5" fish. I caught the next two, with my other buddy catching a couple others ranging from 30-37". The next and final day was just as successful and a day I nickedname 3 foot day as I caught numerous fish at 36". I also earned the name boatside as I caught 4 fish right as I was trying to pull my lure out of the water....what a rush. My final fish of the day and trip ended up being my final trophy of the trip at 40.5" and performed quite the aerial display. We have approximately 52 minutes of video and I will post a link later of the video as it will take some time to edit. My 40.5" pike ended up being the last pike of the trip but also demonstrated how sharp their teeth really are as she proceeded to try and jump out of the net even after her aerial display and cut my finger open. It didn't help that she engulfed the lure and with her large mouth, our longest set of pliers still were not long enough. Luckily I ended up pulling the lure out through her gills with minimal harm caused to her and will a little revival process she eventually swam off. What a trip that I will never forget and I plan on going back...hopefully sooner rather than later. The next couple of posts are pictures from the trip. 84 fish between the tree of us over 5.5 days of fishing. 4 over 40" two 39.5, a 38, a few 37's and numerous 30-36" fish. Average fish was 34" +/-.

wow, amazing fishing! Reminds me a bit of trips I took with my brothers every year fishing the Boundary Waters (Minnesota) and the Quetico (Canada) back in the late 70s.
