My wife and i arrived at squamish river at noon, targeting pink salmon.
Gear: 8wt fly rod with floating line, pink streamers.
Method: swing streamer in 2-3ft of water, with a tiny split shot about 2ft up from the fly, and also nymph a pink scud under a clear float.
Results: 15 pink salmon caught in total, 13 released 2 retained.
Conditions: cool and overcast with very light sprinkles intermittently, water was chaulky with glacial silt, only 8-10 inches of visibility.
Notes: the pinks tended to hit flies with a red beadhead far more ofen than without. My total time elapsed was 2 hours, in that time i caught more fish than both people to my left and right combined who were using spoons and spinners. Other fly fishermen had similar results to me.
This concludes my bc fishing reports for this month, im heading back to the states tomorrow morning.

picture 1 is what the proper way to release a fish looks like. fish never removed from water, never touched with dry hands, released as fast as possible with as little handling as possible.
