I had lines in the water around 5:45am this morning. I was finished before 10am. In all 10 made it to the net, 2 got off on the way in, and had a few more takedowns that didn't stick. Productive, fun morning! I marked a lot of fish from 25 feet up to the surface. I never went below 6 feet on the downrigger though today. All fish caught in the top 10 feet of the water column.

On 1 line I ran 1/4 ounce lead, dick nite clown dodger, and 12 inches of leader to a 50/50 Elgin Fishing God's tooth spoon, pre-rigged for Kokanee by Reli-Lures and purchased online from Zombie Tinder (yea, my wife saw it show up on the credit card and asked a few questions :) ) I was impressed with the fact that from the time I ordered to when it got to my door was 2 days. The downrigger rod I started with a green Kokanee Khaos, and after about an hour of nothing on it changed it to a Mack's mini Kokanee Killer, and got nothing on it. At this time I had 4 already on the 50/50 God's Tooth, so I finally switched the downrigger line out to a 50/50 I had rigged myself last year. It had 14-16 inches of leader on it. I think if I would have either started with it or switched to it sooner, I may have limited out even faster.

The magic speed seemed to be about 1.25mph today. All fish were between 11-13 inches. They are starting to plump up. Pautzke's fire corn in pink soaked in kokanee super dipping sauce over night, then the lure dunked in the dipping sauce before hitting the water worked for me today. I had a bag of corn soaked in garlic bloody tuna ready to go, but I never needed to get into it today. Set backs on both lines was 75 feet. I usually don't go that long, but it worked. Surface temp was right around 52.
