Great day on the water at Sekiu. Weather was absolutely fantastic. Us and about 500 or so other boats were on the foggy water by about 6:00am. Fished the area near Sekiu river all day, in 170 to 330 ft. No fish, no bites. Never saw any other fish being taken the whole time out. Got back to the ramp about 2:00pm. No one around us at the dock and caught or seen any fish caught. We did see a few fish being carried around thought. Nothing of any real size noted. WDFW reported the tribes were allowed to "mop-up" a few days before the opener to make their quota they didn't meet in March. There was no oversight on their "mop-up" results. I was told by a Sekiu resident he watched them off load in the cover of darkness, and one truck was so overloaded, it fell over.
