The weather was pretty crappy to say the least, but you either wanna fish or don't. Launched around 2:30 and started to the right off the launch. Water was still pretty clear but a little more murky from the storm. There was a constant rain that was sometimes heavy but it was the wind that eventually became to tough to work with. Worked the whole right side throwing swim jigs and the occasional Texas rig in areas that looked appropriate. I feel like i had 1 bite on the Texas rig but couldn't connect. Worked up til the swim area then darted to the other side because the weather was becoming to much. Thankfully I did. Once over there I decided to throw the neko.. sometimes you just gotta go with what you're most confident in. Got to the 2 giant trees in the water and 3rd cast in I see my line sinking a lot faster then normal. That's how I notice most bites..the line moving faster then it's normal sink rate. Because I feel like you don't? normally actually feel the bite with this presentation. I set the hook and can instantly tell it's a good one. Using a light rod and light line always makes for an adventure. Starts pulling drag and heading right for the lay downs. I'm going "no no no!" And trying to turn his head. Luckily I do and slowly start working it back to the boat. After a nice fight I finally land her. Goes 4.6 and off she goes. I go all the way to the tennis court without anymore more action and decide to head in because of weather. If I only land one I'll take that one.
