What a day! With My little Buddy Walt. Wind ,rain and scorching sun. This is the first trip in many years that we fished for 5 hours and caught over 100 fish. Went to the lake about 9 AM had to test the new motor for our little duck hunting boat. Took along our ultra light gear and bought a dozen worms from Harry at Erricsons. We ran the motor to check it out. Went behind the island to get out of the wind, only had to bail a few gallons of water out of the boat because of the torenchal rain storms. From the first cast to the last piece of worm it was non-stop bites [one large mouth over a pound] Rock bass were the staples but perch ,blue gill, crappy, and every other spiny ray was well represented.
If you were not getting a bite every 60 seconds that your bait was in the water you better move it. We released everything. [No Trout were taken on Bait.] If your kids need a day out go rent a boat and motor. take as light of gear as you have and use just enough worm to cover the bend of the hook. Work the shorline around the fallen trees and hang on. The middle of the day was just as good as the morning just fish the shady spots when the sun is high. Great day to just get your string stretched ALL DAY.
