Last year Rosario Resort re-established it's Cascade Lake water rights through it's hydroelectric plant and drew down the water so far we could not launch our Lund boat after June 29th....the last day we could fish the lake last year! Talk about depressing. Fishing is my only respite/healing during the busy summer months of long work days/weeks.

We were eager to get on the lake for 2017. Fished 11-4 under partly sunny skies. Temperature of water 55 degrees and air temp about 50 with wind. Downright chilly when the rain came on and off and the wind blew. Nonetheless, it was a great first day on the lake.

Consistently boated fish and lost a bunch too. I caught and released 5 trout and 1 bass. P. boated 6 trout and 1 bass, and K. didn't lift any into the net or boat, but did have 5 that didn't button up. I had one fish on that stayed down a long time. Never saw it and don't know what it was but it was good!

After a boat barbecue of hotdogs with potato salad we decided we'd clear the lake and warm up our chilled bones....but our hearts were warm with a good day fishing.
