Finally got out on the water Sunday to do a little fishing with my wife , daughter and her husband. We launched out of Willow Bay around 5 PM. The launch was really crowded. We sat for 45 minutes waiting to launch and there still was a line of trucks behind us. Liked it better when it was a private resort but I guess times do change.
Anyway we were on the water and fishing by 6 PM and headed up stream towards Suncrest on the east side of the lake. We were trolling Jigs tipped with worms, spinners and bottom bouncers. We were even casting drop shot rigs and fuzzy tailed jigs along the docks. About a mile up stream our daughter hollers fish on. I was great because she was using her child hood fishing pole, a 6' fiberglass pole with the good Zebco 202 for a reel. It was quite a battle because of drag issues on the old Zebco but she finally landed a nice 2.4lb walleye. We fished another mile upstream and the wife continually catching perch on her spinner and worm. Jeff and I were not getting anything but laughs at the girls and their worm issues.
We fished the west side of the lake down past Tum Tum all the way to the power line. Didn't catch anything but perch. Had a great time and headed home to clean fish and cook some burgers on the grill and have a beer or two. Finally wrapped up a great day of fishing and family fun around 10 PM. Jeff and I got skunked but the challenge is on now. Girls look out for the next trip for we won't be so generous. LOL.
I'll post some pictures in a little bit. I forgot to download them off my phone before I started this. Everyone have a great day. Tight lines.
