Went to hortheif lake the morning of the 19th. Afternoon of the 20th and morning of the 22nd. Best day by far was the first day early about 6am and done by 10am or so. Fished the train damn for a bit with a few fish. Then hit the Rock walls and steeper areas and started nailing fish. Senkos creature baits and mostly any plastics were working great. Natural colors did very well. The first morning we prob caught about 40+ fish between 4 of us and nothing over 4lbs. We were catching fish from shoreline to 20ft+ deep. Saw large carp jumping and getting spooked in the shallows while We fished. The shallow and side where the park is didn't have much action. We found out the last day the topwater bite was decent as well. East side smallmouth has always been great!
