Short version:. Caught only one 17" unclipped Kokanee at 1:30'ish on Sunday afternoon.
Arrived in the early afternoon (Sunday) to try to target Kokanee, having only fished here once before on Friday.
Launched my little boat and headed out from the WDFW site. Ran my lure back about 50 feet and dropped my little downrigger to about 30 feet depth about 200-300 yards NW of the launch. I realized that I had left my cellphone on the front seat of the van so I turned around and headed back to shore when the line came unclipped and it was fish-on!!! This was my first time using my fancy Eagle Claw Kokanee rod and I carefully played the fish to the boat so that I wouldn't tear it's soft mouth. Once the fish was netted I thought I was going to have a GREAT day.....
Didn't quite turn out much better as that was to be the only fish of the afternoon.
I had bleed and placed the single fish in the cold cooler right away and it sure fried up well a few hours later.
Overall I am happy I went and I've caught my largest Kokanee to date (and the first of this season)
