I slept in today and then decided to go fishing. I arrived at American at 10:30. I hit the water and marked a lot of fish. However the bite seemed to be over. I trolled several different lures, nerka bugs, hootchies, spoons, in pinks and greens with no lucky. At noon I finally had a downrigger road go off at 34 feet on a Blue radical glow tube. The fish was about 12 inches, my first kokanee of the year. I reeled him in and he gave me the high fin a foot from my net. Fifteen minutes later I had another take down on the same rod and another fish lost behind the boat.
The action was pretty darn slow. I was going to stay till I boated a fish, but got an email concerning a job offer so I decided to call it a day and take care of business. I think next time I will go early an d see if the bite is better, it was a beautiful few hours on the lake.
