Hit banks for a family camping fishing trip from friday the 2nd through monday morning. It was tough fishing at first..went around to barker flats and ran everything from planers and flicker shads to bottom walkers with color change outs like crazy to get a bite on. Finally figured it out on monday morning with just a slow death hook and crawler. Fish on from 15- 30 ft of water. We also tried to get some bass in throughout the weekend but they were non existent on the rocks. Figured that one out later when we picked up a 2lb smallie at barker and when cleaned was full of eggs still...I think they are on the spawn now from the late winter. Water temp varied from 68- 61 depending on part of the lake. There were people catching in the punch bowl but i did not fish it personally. Should get better in the next few weeks i think. Tight lines all.

Thanks for the report. So no smile blade with the crawler? Glad to hear some catching is happening finally.

I like a straight up slow death presentation with a crawler. It's deadly!

I fished the punch bowl and a little up lake form there on Saturday afternoon and Monday morning/afternoon and only managed 2 trout and 1 smallish perch for my walleye fishing effort. First time on Banks though so it was exploring and learning for me.
